Most good defensive teams during that era used the same type of defense system against Jordan.They double -team ,recover and rotate so quickly .They are just the same.
The difference is that they were much more physical because of the rules and there was no 3 seconds rules.
Jordan would use a lot of different things to beat this defense, mainly being his ability to use his extreme footspeed to free himself up in a trap situation enough to make a move. I also see Jordan using a lot of give and go's, he would shoot a lot of mid range off balance j's. I could see him baiting in a double in the post and using some pump fakes, head fakes, and body fakes to draw fouls like crazy on this defense because they look too much for the blocked shot underneath.
And you call that hand-check?
